Dear Paris, We need to talk....
Feb 14, 2025
We’ve loved you for a long time – after all, you are the City of Love, of Lights, of Romance. You are sleek, sophisticated and chic… You had us at “bonjour”.
But just lately, it's as though we are being ghosted after a bad Tinder date. Your usual je ne sais quoi has left us feeling like we’re in one of those tragic French romances where someone gets dramatically left on a bridge in the rain, and we didn't pack a hat.
First, a 200% city tax increase with only one day’s notice. Then, a 40% public transport hike just after banning motor coaches from the city centre. The Musée d’Orsay now plays harder to get than a Parisian waiter, and the Arc de Triomphe? We’d have more chance of getting a front-row seat at Paris Fashion Week than booking a group in over weekends and around Easter. Add to that planned changes and price increases for foreigners at the Louvre, and no group bookings for the Eiffel Tower, and it’s starting to feel like you don’t want us around.
Paris, did we do something wrong? Were we too keen?
We won’t lie – we’ve thought about taking a break. But the truth is, we just can’t quit you. We’ve been through too much together. You are still, undeniably, magical.
So, rather than part ways, let’s reignite the spark and spice things up! Let’s swap the same old, same old for new adventures. Let’s rediscover the Paris that doesn’t play hard to get, the one that welcomes us with open arms and a touch of old-world charm. There’s so much more to you than the usual attractions—and we’re ready to fall in love all over again.
We’ve created a new itinerary that celebrates all those parts of you that we have ignored for so long, and we hope you love it just as much as we love you.
Paris – let’s stay together because, after all, there’s no other city in the world quite like you.
Love
